An elderly Palestinian woman casts her vote at a polling station during the final round of local elections in the West Bank town of Ramallah. Hamas scored a clear victory in local elections in the main West Bank cities in what was one of the clearest indicators of the Palestinain Islamist movement's strength ahead of January's parliamentary contest.
